Jacy Bowles
Jacy is a California-born student of Mexican, Diné, and Scotch-Irish ancestry. Her work focuses on the intersection of community-based activism and the arts, particularly in the context of Native communities. She is currently completing an M.A. in Depth Psychology, with a specialization in Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Eco-Psychologies at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, and will begin her Ph.D. studies in the same discipline in October.
Jacy’s recent work involves program development at Obsidian Collective, where she supported native artists in film and streetwear. Her efforts and ethics prioritize cultural community values, artists’ well-being, and the integrity of their work. Prior to this, she served as a multi-program coordinator in the Dean’s office at UCLA and as a Post-Release Accompaniment Coordinator for detained undocumented immigrants at Centro Legal de la Raza in Oakland, CA. In her free time, Jacy enjoys being present with her friends, family, husband, and two Xolos, as well as pursuing her creative interests.
