Wm. Zeb Smith

Wm “Zeb” Smith is a filmmaker and designer residing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. After cutting his teeth in the New York design offices of Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren for some years, Zeb pivoted and created a TV show focused on microfinacing efforts in the third world, that he then sold to Dick Clark Productions and Discovery. Although this first show never made it to air, it did move Zeb to LA, and his second show, “Ancient Aliens,” found global success, and is currently in its 21st season on The History Channel. In 2018, Zeb left television and produced his first feature film, “Two Yellow Lines,” that would go on to premiere at the Bozeman International Film Festival. After taking Best Picture there, Zeb brokered a split acquisition between 101 Studios (“Yellowstone”) and Universal Pictures to purchase the film’s global distribution rights.

With the film rekindling a childhood love for the Mountain West, Zeb moved his small family to the origin of his youth’s happiest moments: Jackson Hole. Wanting to be entrenched with the local community, Zeb redirected his creative focus away from filmmaking and production, and back to his foremost passion— design. Grit General, Jackson Hole’s premiere purveyor of high-end menswear, was born in 2022. Three years later, it was awarded Best Clothing Store in Jackson Hole, as it continues to grow its in-house collections and far-flung activations and trunk shows.

While Zeb’s daily creative output is primarily focused on fashion these days, he still gets his film fix satisfied as a very active director of the Jackson Hole International Film Festival.
