Alexander Nyang’iti
Alexander Nyang’iti, from Nairobi, Kenya, is an award-winning youth climate innovator and environmental storyteller. He is the pioneer behind ForestNukes, a Miyawaki-inspired seed-bombing reforestation system that won the 2024/2025 Climate Innovation Challenge Founders’ Award for Best in Show. Through his work, Alexander bridges climate innovation, rewilding, and youth empowerment.
Aside from participating in the CIC, he has also served as a peer mentor with CAVU Africa, guiding high school students across Kenya to create impactful climate storytelling projects. He was a featured speaker on TV47’s Green Warriors and a youth panelist at the Sasini PLC Sustainability Report Launch, where he spotlighted youth innovation and corporate climate roles.
An aspiring electrical engineer specializing in green technology, Alexander is passionate about designing sustainable solutions. Outside of climate work, he enjoys testing his limits, like ‘casually’ summiting Mt. Kenya’s Point Lenana peak in 13 hours (a climb that usually takes 3–5 days). In his free time, you’ll find him playing tennis, biking, and exploring his growing passion for filmmaking.
