Digital & Social Media Specialist
CAVU is working on oil & gas issues in New Mexico using our unique toolbox that includes flight, film, education and partnerships, CAVU creates compelling, balanced and timely video and educational materials that serve as platforms for cooperative initiatives to educate communities, engage leadership and empower diverse audiences with practicable solutions.
We’re looking for an organized self-starter with a strong interest in doing Communications and Marketing in the non-profit sector. Ideal candidates will be able to digest the mission and vision of CAVU (and the UNEARTHED initiative) and represent our organization on social media, as well as create digital media products to illustrate and promote our present and past initiatives. This position will require 10-20 hours per week at a rate of $15-20/hour depending on experience. Position reports to the Media Director in Santa Fe and most work can be completed remotely with occasional trips to Santa Fe for training and meetings.
- Create and manage original and shared social media content
- Manage social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), track analytics and optimize use
- Manage ongoing social media campaigns (organic, ad campaigns, boosted content)
- Keep current on issues related to our initiatives for timely content
- Reinvigorate and maintain our ad sets on Google AdWords
- Update website occasionally
Any students applying for this position must be Marketing or Communications majors (or otherwise substantiate the relevance of their studies) and possess a strong work ethic as well as an ability to multi-task and perform duties without direct supervision. Experience preferred (academic or professional); please do not list personal social media use/management as experience.
