CAVU in the Peruvian Amazon

By June 22, 2010Uncategorized

This July, the CAVU team embarks on a research trip to the Peruvian Amazon, thanks to a recent grant from the Blue Moon Foundation. The Peruvian Amazon is in peril – subject to illegal and quasi-legal logging, the destructive forces of unplanned roadway development, a reckless gold rush and crushing social realities.

Peru (1 of 3) On this trip, CAVU will meet with a wide range of stakeholders, from NGOs operating in the region to local indigenous leaders, aviation officials and Peruvian park service, to help develop a program to support Peru’s national system of parks and protected areas – and the region’s threatened cultural heritage. We look forward to keeping you informed so that we can work together to keep the Amazon healthy.
