CAVU (cavu.org) is a small conservation and social justice non-profit using flight, film and education. We are based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and seeking a Project Coordinator for our home office. Currently, we have projects in Florida, New Mexico and globally via CARE International. We are seeking someone with exceptional writing abilities, understanding of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Reddit and passion for issues such a climate change and child welfare. The person in the position will be dealing directly with our partners and therefore will need good interpersonal skills.
The Project Coordinator provides a full range of moderate clerical work assignments in support of the daily operations of the organization and is responsible for writing copy about CAVU and its current projects. The Project Coordinator will also take on responsibilities of planning, developing, and implementing CAVU’s strategies with marketing and communications and public relations activities, through social media and print to effectively describe and promote CAVU.
Write articles covering projects the organization has done or will do; write copy for outreach materials, newsletters, the website, and social media; design, develop, produce, edit, and distribute materials
Help implement marketing, communication and public relations strategies that enhance the image, brand and position of the organization
Assume responsibility for updating the organization’s website and social media accounts
Coordinate and maintain media contacts; serve as the organizations spokesperson at request of the Executive Director
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, business or related field
Experience: Professional work experience
Other: Excellent writing skills
A creative and strategic thinker, a self-starter, and an excellent manager of their time
Strong people skills, ability to work with various constituent groups to meet CAVU’s needs, Some knowledge and experience in design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities. Some experience making presentations and working with multimedia
Strong technical skills in computer literacy, including word press, database management, graphic design, desktop publishing, Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, etc.
